Nehemiah 12:27-47
At the dedication(貢獻) of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were brought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with the music of cymbals, harps and lyres. The musicians also were brought together from the region around Jerusalem. When the priests and Levites had purified themselves ceremonially, they purified the people, the gates and the wall.
I had the leaders of Judah go up on top of[e] the wall. I also assigned two large choirs to give thanks.
And on that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced. The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away.
At that time men were appointed to be in charge of the storerooms for the contributions, first fruits and tithes. From the fields around the towns they were to bring into the storerooms the portions required by the Law for the priests and the Levites, for Judah was pleased with the ministering priests and Levites. They performed the service of their God and the service of purification, as did also the musicians and gatekeepers, according to the commands of David and his son Solomon.
At this point we return to Nehemiah's own first-person memoirs. Two processions, each led by a choir, make their way in opposite directions along the broad top of the wall, meeting in the Temple area for the concluding thanksgiving and sacrifices. It is an occasion of tumultuous(洶) joy and noisy celebration.
Why?
Each role be played in the Temple to celebrate the dedication of the city, God's city. It is tumultuous joy and celebration. It is a real worship to the Lord.
Each role in the Temple like each person serve the Lord in the church now. We are playing one role to worship the Lord. This is the house of the Lord.
How?
Be humble and fear the Lord to worship the Lord, praise this Holy name everyday!

Remember what God has done for us and my blood comes from.
Nehemiah 12:1-26
Lists first the priests and Levites who returned with Zerubbabel, then descendants of high priest Joshua, then heads of families of priests, and records of the families of priests and Levites, ending with Temple duties.
It is not bureaucratic pedantry(學究氣) that has preserved these names. The point is that these people and their chronicler are conscious of their roots and of their structure as God's accompany. This is no rabble of refugees, settling down anywhere.
Why?
Write down the lists of the priests and Levites to know their roots of God's accompany, let their descendant remember where they came from and what their structure.
Remember our ancestor and obey their heritages and culture and the Lord is our God.
Whoever forget his ancestor forget his root and without culture and like the dust in the wind.
How?
Remember what God has done for us and my blood comes from.

We will not neglect the house of out God
Nehemiah 11:1-36
The leaders of the people settled in Jerusalem. The rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of every ten of them to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the remaining nice were to satay in their own towns.
These are the provincial leaders who settled in Jerusalem now some Israelites, priests, Levites, temple servants and descendants of Solomon's servants lived in the towns of Judah, each on their own property in the various towns, while other people from both Judah and Benjamin lived in Jerusalem.
There were descendants of Judah, Benjamin, priests,Levites, gatekeepers,..
The people pledge specifically to keep the law's requirements on marriage, the sabbath, and taxes, tithes and offerings to support the Temple services, priests and Levites. 'We will obey all that the Lord out God commands... We will not neglect the house of out God.
A list of those already living in Jerusalem. The number was increased by a 10 per cent levy(征集) on the villages around.
Why?
Jerusalem is a city surrounding a wall, but more important is the Temple, there was the house of the Lord, so they need make a pledge and continue the service in the Temple and many servant of Temple to serve the Lord. More important they have to obey the command of the Lord, then they may serve the Lord.
A servant of the Lord need to a man of God, who obey the commands of the Lord and do the right things and honor the name of the Lord.
Church is a building, but more important is the people in church should be real Christians before the Lord.
How?
There are people come to church to be servant of the Lord and take care of the House of God.

Bind themselves with a curse and an oath to follow the Law of God
Nehemiah 10:1-39
In view of all this, we are making a binding agreement, putting it in writing, and our leaders, out Levites and out priests are affixing(粘貼) their seals to it.
The rest of the people - priest, Levites, gatekeepers, musicians, temple servants and all who separated themselves from the neighboring peoples for the sake of the Law of God, together with their wives and all their sons and daughters who are able to understand.
All these now join their fellow Israelites the nobles, and bind themselves with a curse and an oath to follow the Law of God given through Moses the servant of God and to obey carefully all the commands, regulations and decrees of the Lord our Lord.
We will not neglect the house of out God.
The review of their history in the great confession produces a longing to sign up once again to the covenant-agreement with God, so often broken. Nehemiah the governor, priests, Levites and leaders sign on behalf of the nation. The covenant is ratified(批准) in customary style with a curse and an oath.
Why?
No only read the Bible but also has action to obey the word of the Lord. They make an oath and curse with affixing their seal to the writing.
Not only people but include leaders, Levites and priests, all under such situation everyone have to obey this command.
It is not easy to make such great regulation, they have to separate from this wives, sons and daughters. They were their blood family. People have love in their family.
Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. (Matthew 16:24)
How?
Walk on the way of the Lord and Jesus said whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Confession and in worshiping the Lord
Nehemiah 9:1-9
The Israelites confess their sins.
Those of Israelite descent had separated themselves from all foreigners. They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the sins of their ancestors.
They stood where they were and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a quarter of the day, and spent another quarter in confession and in worshiping the Lord their God.
Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.
Here, reversing the usual order, feasting is followed by fasting, joy by sorrow. The nation's repentance is genuine. Wrongs are righted and the people turn to God in confession and worship. The people's prayer - the prelude to renewal of the covenant -begin with God's work of creation and recalls his loving and faithful dealings with a rebellious nation from the time of Abraham to their won day, when they come to him as slaves in their own land because of their sin.
Why?
Real revival is beginning from the confess our sins. Among worshiping and confessing after read the Laws of the Lord. Turn the word to action.
Read the bible everyday is habit, but put it in practice is change our life to the Lord.
God is the Lord, He alone is the Lord!
How?
Confess my sins and worship the Lord, for He alone is my God, my way and my hope!

Remember what God has done for us through celebration ceremony
Nehemiah 8:13-18
On the second day of the month, They found written in the Law, which the Lord had commanded through Moses, that the Israelites were to live in temporary shelters during the festival of the seventh month. and that they should proclaim this word and spread it throughout their towns and in Jerusalem: “Go out into the hill country and bring back branches from olive and wild olive trees, and from myrtles, palms and shade trees, to make temporary shelters”—as it is written.
The whole company that had returned from exile built temporary shelters and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated it like this. And their joy was very great.
They celebrated the festival for seven days, and on the eighth day, in accordance with the regulation, there was an assembly.
When they learn the full measure of their failures.
In the course of study, they rediscover the original instructions for the Feast of Tabernacles. And for the first time since Joshua they make leafy shelters to live in, as a reminder of their ancestors' desert-wandering after the exodus from Egypt.
Why?
People return from exile study the Law from Moses, let them remember their ancestors' desert wandering after the exodus from Egypt.
Remember how the Lord has protected them and led them out of slavery.
Ceremony looks meaningless, but celebration ceremony may let us remember what God has done for us.
How?
When we forget what the Lord had done for us, then we will turn to the wrong way and forgot what God said.

All the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law
Nehemiah 8:1-12
On the first day of the seventh month all the people came together as one in the square before the Water Gate. Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, which was made up of men and women and all who were able to understand. He read it aloud from day break till noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate in the presence of the men, women and others who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law.
Ezra praised the Lord, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, "Amen! Amen!" Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
The people ask Ezra to bring out the book of the law. Ezra reads and the Levites explain to a patient and attentive audience.(Maybe they also translated for some who spoke Aramaic and knew no Hebrew.
Why?
People came to square before the Water Gate and ask Ezra read the book of Law to them, it means Israelite were really wanted to know the word of God, after they return from exile.
No only priests but also Levites explain to a patient and attentive audience.
It was a spiritual revival among people in Jerusalem.
Focus on the word of God and read it in mind is the blessing from the Lord.
No only read it but also practice it in daily life is more important.
How?
Listened attentively to the Book of the Law is blessing and signal to spiritual revival. Do I read the Bible attentively?

God put it into my heart for registration by families
Nehemiah 7:4-73
Now the city was large and spacious, but there were few people in it,and the houses had not yet been rebuilt. So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families. I found the genealogical record of those who had been the first to return.
The whole company numbered 42,360, besides their 7,337 male and female slaves; and they also had 245 male and female singers.
Some of the heads of the families contributed to the work. The governor gave to the treasury 1,000 darics of gold, 50 bowls and 530 garments for priests. Some of the heads of the families gave to the treasury for the work 20,000 darics of gold and 2,200 minas of silver. The total given by the rest of the people was 20,000 darics of gold, 2,000 minas of silver and 67 garments for priests.
Nehemiah decides to create a register of all the families present, discovering as he does so an earlier list.
V 6-7 (almost identical to the list in Ezra 2, see notes) refer to the first , and main, party of Jews to return home in 538 following Cyrus' decree.
Why?
My God put it into my heart to.. is the mind from the Lord to register Jews. It is the records of the first return Jews from exile.
When we are follow the word of the Lord, sometime we have mind or idea could be from the Lord if it is not against to God's word. It should be not against the truth.
Some of the heads of the families and governor and some people contributed to the work of wall rebuilt. This is whole assemble come together for their home town and rebuilt the wall of Jerusalem.
God takes care each moment of mind and actions on his people.

Chose a man of integrity and feared God more than most people do
Nehemiah 7:1-3
I put in charge of Jerusalem my brother Hanani, along with Hananiah the commander of the citadel(堡壘), because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most people do.
I said to them, “The gates of Jerusalem are not to be opened until the sun is hot. While the gatekeepers are still on duty, have them shut the doors and bar them. Also appoint residents of Jerusalem as guards, some at their posts and some near their own houses.”
The work completed, orders given and duties assigned.
Why?
Orders given and duties assigned is necessary to maintain a city or a company.
Assigned a commander of citadel, he is a man of integrity and feared God more than most people do. Nehemiah chose a mam who are integrity and fear the Lord, Integrity means he is honest to God and to his duty. Fear the Lord means he is doing the righteous things.
Appoint residents of Jerusalem as guards, some at their posts and some near their own houses. It is a good idea for there were not many resident and chose those who near their own houses is easy and not much burden to them.
Good leader and have a rule to do is needed.
How?
Chose a good leader and make a simple rule to follow is a good way to them and to many tasks.

This work had been done with the help of our God
Nehemiah 6:10-19
One day I went to the house of Semaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetable, who was shut in at his him, He said, "Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us close the temple doors, because men are coming to kill you - by night they are coming to kill you." But I said, "should a man like me run away? Or should someone like me go into the temple to save his life? I will no go!" I realized the God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
The wall was completed on the 25 of Elul, in 52 days. When all out enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.
For many in Judah were under oath to Tobaih, since he was son-on law to Shekaniah son of Arah, and his son Jehohanan had married the dauster of Meshullam son of Berekiah. So Tobiah sent letters to intimidate(威嚇) me.
Nehemiah's replies are superb. He will allow nothing to deflect him from his God-given task. And in under two months (by August/September, the work having been done in the summer heat) the walls are finished - such a fantastic achievement that even Israel's enemies are forced to acknowledge God's hand in it.
Why?
Revealed one 'threat from within', These verse reveal a disloyalty on the part of leading Jews which jeopardized(危害) the whole effort.
Sometimes the jeopardized from within are more severe than from outside enemies.
Even come into temple of the Lord is not really task to protect our life. Protect us the Lord and the Holy Spirit, but it is the temple or the building church.
Prophesies may disguise by false spirit, so be careful.
This work had been done with the help of our God. Everyone who follow the word of God will be blessed and done with the help of our God.
Within 52 days Nehemiah leading those people the work of building wall was completed.
How?
Insist the mission of the Lord and do it with all my heart and strength, care to the false talk and intimidate with faith.
One day I went to the house of Semaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetable, who was shut in at his him, He said, "Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us close the temple doors, because men are coming to kill you - by night they are coming to kill you." The wall was completed on the 25 of Elul, in 52 days.

Faced blackmail and intimidation
Nehemiah 6:1-9
Further opposition to the rebuilding
They sent message:"Come, let us meet together in one of the villages on the plain of Ono." Totally four times with same message, and Nehemiah gave them the same answer "I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?"
The fifth time, Sanballat sent his aide to me with the same message, and in his hand was an unsealed letter. It was saying Nehemiah was plotting to revolt, and therefore you are building the wall. and you are about to become their king..."
Nehemiah reply:"Nothing like what you are saying is happening; you are just making it up out of your head."
The opposition realize that their only chance of stopping the work is to get rid of Nehemiah. Their first move is to try to persuade him to leave Jerusalem for talks. When that fails they try blackmail and intimidation(恐嚇).
Why?
Nehemiah knew that the enemy try to stop the work is to get rid of him, so he refused accept the invitation with mild words.
More trouble is the blackmail it might make more rumor among people and stop the work.m
Do not trust everything, but knowing that there are enemy who are envy what I am doing.
How?
Alert to each word and each message, some are opposition force from the darkness.

But out of reverence for God
Nehemiah 5:14-19
But out of reverence for God(出於對上帝的敬畏) I did not act like that. Instead, I devoted myself to the work on this wall, All my men were assembled there for the work; we did not acquire any land.
Furthermore, a hundred and fifty Jews and officials ate at my table, as well as those who came to us from the surrounding nations.
I never demanded the food allotted to the governor, because the demands were heavy on these people.
Remember me with favor, my God, for all I have done for these people.
Take us 12 years on, as Nehemiah records, to his credit, his own style as governor. He acts as he does out of respect for God and his laws.
Why?
Nehemiah acts for he reverence for God and his laws. He never demanded any food or land from governor, because all governor are supported by the people, it will be loading to people.
Nehemiah acts were not for government, not for himself but for the Lord and his people and the laws.
How?
Respect these men and doing like Nehemiah, do anything for reverence for God!

How justce could be done? And help the poor and needy people
Nehemiah 5:1-13
Now the men and their wives raised a great outcry against their fellow Jews.
When I heard their outcry and their charges, I was very angry. I pondered them in my mind and then accused the nobles and officials. I told them, " You are charging your own people interest!" So I called together a large meeting to deal with them and said: "As far as possible, we have bought back out fellow Jews who were sold to the Gentiles. Now you are selling your own people, only for them to be sold back to us!" They kept quiet, because they could find nothing to say.
Let us stop charging interest! Give back to them immediately their fields, vineyards, olive groves and houses, and also the interest you are charging them.
"We will give it back", they said. "And we will not demand anything more from them. We will do as you say." Then I summoned the priests and made the nobles and officials take an oath to do what they had promised.
I also shook out the folds of my robe and said, “In this way may God shake out of their house and possessions anyone who does not keep this promise. So may such a person be shaken out and emptied!
While Nehemiah has been buying back Hebrew slaves and Loaning money and food to the poor even providing his own support as governor, rich Jews have been exacting interest from their fellow countrymen, contrary to the law and selling them as slaves to foreigners. Nehemiah takes firm action to set this right.
Why?
When people were come together to rebuild the wall, but their family and their field, house was control under their rich Jews, their children were slave of the Jews. It is against the law of Jews.
How the righteous could be extended? Nehemiah have pondered it, them he call a meeting them accuse the nobles and official.
1. Pondered them in my mind. 2. Accused the nobles and officials. 3. Called them a large meeting to deal with them. 4. Say the works compare with them and me 5. Let us stop charging interest. 6. Summoned the priests and made the nobles and officials take an oath to do what they had promised. 6. Say to them if they don't keep the promise, may such person be shaken out and emptied.
How?
Nehemiah give us a good example how to make justice be done and really help the poor and be slaved people.

Prayer and faith, plus practical action
Nehemiah 4:1-23
Sanballat was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews/ Tobiah the Ammonite, who was at his side.
But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.
I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows. "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes."
So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out.
Have every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and as workers by day. Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off out clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water.
Nehemiah beats the opposition
The people have a will to work, and a dynamic leader. Nonetheless they have to face first ridicule, them terrorism from powerful opponents. Nehemiah's reply is prayer and faith, plus practical action: 'we prayed... and set a guard','Remember the Lord... and fight'. His unshakable confidence comes from the certainty that 'our God will fight for us'
Why?
Nehemiah had confidence to the Lord and pray to the Lord, and he also had action to protect the threat and terrorism. He and his people were living with people and worked with them.
Strong faith to the Lord and practicing real action to the threat is the action we have to do, this is the way to work for the Lord Almighty.'
How?

Pro-active and inspiration leadership
Nehemiah 3:1-32
Builders of the wall.
Under Nehemiah's pro-active(積極主動) and inspirational(勵志) leadership it takes just 52 days, despite all opposition, ti build about 2.3km of wall.
This chapter describes the work from a starting-point on the north side and going anti-clockwise. Most of the places mentioned cannot now be identified. But the Sheep Gate was on the north wall. eastern end; the Fish Gate at the north-west corner; the Tower of the Ovens at the north-west corner of David's city.
People of all sorts join together in the work of rebuilding. The list mentions priests and perfumers, goldsmiths and merchants, rulers - and women too. Some undertook a double section.
Nehemiah, astute as always, sets the people to work on sections near their own homes, for which they naturally have a special concern. The leaders named are citizens of long standing: neither Ezra not the men of his party are mentioned.
Why?
All who involved in rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem his name are recorded for ling standing. Those who working for the Lord will be remember by the Lord.
Nehemiah has good plan and pro-active to rebuild wall of Jerusalem. He has not so much time to his home land, so he make an efficient way to built the wall.
How?
To serve the Lord should like Nehemiah's pro-active and inspirational leadership.

Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem
Nehemiah 2:1-20
Nehemiah served before the king, when king asked him he prayed to the the Lord in his heart and said to the king asked him "What is it you want?". "If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried so that I can rebuild it.
Nehemiah went to Jerusalem, and after staying there three days, he set out during the night with a few others. He had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem. There were no mounts with me except the one I was riding on.
He said to them, Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace. I also told them about the gracious had of my God on me and what the king had said to me.
But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us. I answered them by saying, "The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it."
Nehemiah's mission; the king consents
The sorry state of Jerusalem is a direct consequence of Artaxerxes' decree that building should cease. Nehemiah therefore takes his life in his hands in championing a city which has been represented to the king as a hot-bed of rebellion. Even by letting his grief show in the king's presence he places himself in grave dander. But Nehemiah's concern for his people outweighs self-interest. God answers his prayer, and Artaxerxes grants his request. Unlike Ezra, he sets out on his journey with a military escort.
On arrival in Jerusalem Nehemiah mentions his plans to no one until he has made a secret personal inspection of the city.
Why?
Nehemiah rely on the faith of the Lord and his concern for his people outweigh self-interest granted the grace from the Lord.
First step he did not said anything until he had his secret personal inspection of the city. First to know what the situation it is on his mission.
Next call out to others "Come let us rebuilding." No me, no you but is us.
All of these base on his prayer first and there were grace of the Lord with him.
Nehemiah did not care how the enemy mocked him and ridiculed them. Focus on the mission of the Lord.
How?
Pray first and survey the situation of mission, them call out "Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem"

Let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant;Nehemiah 1
Nehemiah 1:1-11
Nehemiah was cupbearer to the king in the citadel of Susa.
Nehemiah heard the situation of Jerusalem and he wept. For some days mourned and fasted he prayed before the God of heaven and prayed to the Lord.
I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father's family, have committed against you. We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses.
Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.
In December 446, Nehemiah's brother Hanani brings sad news of the colony in Jerusalem. Nehemiah holds the trusted position of king's cup-bearer at the Persian court, at that time resident in the winter capital of Susa. It is his job to taste the king's wine, in case it is poisoned. Although far from his homeland, he is so concerned for his people that for four months he continues to grieve and pray over the situation. Then characteristically, when the opportunity comes, he has a practical plan to put to the king.
Why?
Nehemiah has very high position in front of the king of Persian. But his heart was focused on his homeland Jesusalem. When he heard the news about Jerusalem he was wept and mourn a few days.
After fasted some days he prayed to the Lord, and he confess the sins of him and his family and his father's.
Mourn heart is delight to the Lord, Psalm 51:17 a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
How?
God delight our heart with confess our sin and really turn to Him.

A wife of noble character who can find?
Proverbs 31:10-31
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting(move or pass quickly); but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Proverbs paints a remarkable picture of the power of woman, for good and for ill. it closes with this lovely acrostic poem about the best of wives. She is seen from the man's perspective and reflects a time when the woman's identity was defined largely by her place role in the family. The good wife is responsible, capable, hardworking and completely trusted. Who can find such a one? Her worth is beyond price. Not only do her husband, family and household depend on her provision and foresight for their physical needs: they owe her their well-being at a much deeper lever. Her influence extends beyond this immediate circle to society at large.
And she finds a ample scope for all her gifts in the wider spheres of buying and selling and business transactions. Where does her secret lie? In that same 'fear of the Lord' in which all true wisdom has its roots.
Summary of what the whole book is about: depicting(描繪) the person - man or woman - who is truly wise. Just as Wisdom has been represented as a woman, so here it seems fair to see the wife as a representative figure too. in her noble character, she stands for the kind of person we are all meant to copy.
Why?
A wife of noble character who can find? Wisdom who can find?
A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. This is the basic behavior to be a wise man or woman.
My wife is gift from the Lord, she is worth far more than rubies.
How?
Love my wife in my life and fear the Lord in whole of my life.

Speak up end speak fairly
Proverbs 31:1-9
Advice to king Lemuel.
It is not for king to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer.
Let beer be for those who are perishing, wine for those who are in anguish!
Let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more.
Speak to those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly, defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Why?
Wine may missed many things. Make wrong decisions and lose good opportunity.
Speak up, sometimes do not speak too much, but judge fairly and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.
This is the true Love to a ruler.
How?
Keep away from wine and speak up for the needy people.

God is shield to those who take refuge in him
Proverbs 30:1-33
Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
Keep false hood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.
There are three things that are never satisfied, four that never say,'Enough', the grave, the barren womb, land, which is never satisfied with water, and fire, which never says, 'Enough'.
For as churning cream produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife(爭吵.)
Both Agur and Lemuel are non-Israelites. 'Massa' was an Arab tribe descended from Abraham's son Ishmael. The East was famous for it wisdom, right down to Christ's own day. Agur is a man who's close observation of t life and nature have taught him humility.
V19: He finds four sources of wonder: how the eagle can soar; how the snake can move without legs; how the ship can ride the waves; and the mysterious attraction which draws a man to a woman.
Why?
How marvelous the Lord created this world and nature. how wonderful God made the rules and nature in everything.
There are somethings never satisfied in the world so as men do not desire so much and never satisfied.
Like Jesus taught us how to pray, give us daily bread is enough to me. No poverty nor riches but give me only my daily bread.
How?
God's word is flawless, God is shield to those who take refuge in him.

Whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe
Proverbs 29:1-27
By justice a king gives a country stability, but those who are greedy for bribes tear it down. If a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked.
If a king judge with fairness, his throne will be established forever.
Discipline your children, and they will give you peace; they will bring you the delights you desire.
Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction(注意智慧的指示).
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.
The accomplices of thieves are their own enemies; they are put under oath and dare not testify.
Why?
To be a good king or ruler should be justice and judge with fairness. His throne will be established forever. For the wicked could not on their way.
Fear of man will be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. It is truth to everyone.
Blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction. Do not ignore others suggestion and careful to listen. No each word is truth.
Even a ruler could not give us justice, but seek the Lord gets justice.

Those who trust in the Lord will prosper
Proverbs 28:1-28
When a country is rebellious, it has many rulers, but a ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order.
A ruler who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no crops.
Better the poor whose walk is blameless than the rich whose way are perverse. Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the Lord understand fully.
The rich are wise in their own eyes; one who is poor and discerning sees how deluded(迷惑) they are.
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper.
Whoever rebukes a person will in the end gain favor rather than one who has a flattering tongue.
Blessed is the one who always trembles before God, but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.
Why?
A ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order, same as be a manager or CEO.
Do not oppresses the poor but help them with mercy.
Rich are wise in their own eyes, but sometimes they are deluded themselves, only one who discerning see how.
Confesses sins may find mercy from the Lord and people.
Always trembles before God: Always do the right things, for the Lord is watching us from heaven. He knows what we are doing and what we are thinking.
How?
Be a blessed man always trembles before God. Those who trust in the Lord will prosper.

Be sure you know the condition of your flocks and herds
Proverbs 27:1-27
Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?
Better is open rebuke than hidden love.
Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt(衷心) advice.
The one who guards a fig tree will ear its fruit, and whoever protects their master will be honored.
As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart.
Death and destruction are never satisfied, and neither are human eyes.
The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but people are tested by their praise.
Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds; for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations.
There is more grouping here than in 10:1-22:16, and the proverbs rely more on comparison than contrast for effect('lie apples of god.. is a word spoken in season') The proverbs draw their pictures from nature and everyday life.
Why?
No one can face those who are anger, fury and jealousy.
No one know the hidden love. so let people know if you like someone.
Good advice make people joy if they accept it.
Serve the master will be honored from my master. It is always truth.
Good friend may reflects the heart each other.
People like to watch is never satisfied, so people are desire to watch new things beautiful scenes.
Be careful to be praised, for these will be the judge from others if we missed it.
Take care my business for it is my living needed, my flock, my herds.
Do not envy the riches, or pursue them, rich never endure forever, God will give what we need.

Fervent lips with an evil heart
Proverbs 26:1-28
Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.
A sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven people who answer discreetly.
Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.
As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife.
Like a coating of silver dross((銀渣的塗層) on earthenware(陶器) are fervent lips with an evil heart.
24 Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts they harbor deceit. Though their speech is charming, do not believe them, for seven abominations fill their hearts. Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.
What is more likely than that he should then have turned his attention to the classic wisdom of Solomon? At any rate, it was his people who published this collection of Solomon's proverbs.
Why?
Do not answer fool with right answer but according to his folly.
There is no way to a sluggard who does not work for himself.
Do not gossip, quarrel dies down.
Be care of the enemies and evil man their lips is charming, do not believe them. No matter what they have done, their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. For God is the sovereign Lord.
How?
Be wise to talk and be wise to listen and watch each one. Do not trust everything people says.

Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a ruling rightly given
Proverbs 25:1-28
Remove the dross from the silver, and a silversmith can produce a vessel; remove wicked officials from the king's presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness.
Do not exalt yourself in the king's presence, and do not claim a place among his great men, it is better for him to say to you,"Come up here," than for him to humiliate(羞辱) you before his nobles.
Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a ruling rightly given(裁決正確給予).
Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.
Like a muddied spring or a polluted well are the righteous who give way to the wicked(讓步給惡人).
It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to search out matters that are too deep.
Under King Hezekiah Israel returned to the old neglected patterns of worship. He repaired the Temple and resumed the sacrifices, restoring the Temple music along the lines laid down by David
Why?
King has authority so do not hasty speak to him, for we do not what will be ended.
Ruling rightly given is like apples of god in setting of silver, so don't say too much but say the right word at right time.
Gentle tong can break a bone, I need to say more gentle word with patience.
Do not give way to the wicked, this is a real righteous man.
Do not pride but humble myself is the best way in life.
How?
For a righteous man who do not give way to the wicked.

It will go well with those who convict the guilty
Proverbs 24:23-34
To show partiality in judging is not good:
But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come on them.
An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
I applied my heart to what I observed and learn a lesson from what I saw a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest - and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity(缺乏) like an armed man.
After 30 sayings comes a 'postscript'(後記) of additional saying focusing on justice and hard work, with a sketch of the lazy person in verse 30-34.
The Hebrew has several possible meanings, but it seems to imply a book of sayings which consists of 30 paragraphs or chapters.
Why?
God hate partiality like we speak honest with pure heart.
Everyone has sin against God, so it will be blessed to convict the guilty.
Work hard is needed since Adam had sinned, diligent to work and earn what we need in my life. Then the rich comes, poverty goes away.
How?
Word hard with joy and convict out guilty before the Lord! Don't show partiality in judging.

Whoever plots evil will be known as a schemer
Proverbs 24:1-22
Teaching on wisdom and folly, and right living.
20: Do not envy the wicked, do not desire their company.
21: By wisdom the house is built, and through understanding it is established.
22: The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster(鼓起) their strength,
23: Wisdom is too high for fools
24: Whoever plots evil will be known as a schemer.
25: If you falter(衰退) in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering(踉蹌) toward slaughter.
26: Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste. Know also that wisdom is like honey for you.
27: Do not lurk(匿伏) like a thief near the house of the righteous, do not plunder their dwelling place; for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.
28: Do not gloat(幸災樂禍) when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from them.
29: Do not fret(煩惱) because of evildoers or be envious of the wicked, for the evildoer has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
30: Fear the Lord and the king, my son, and do not join with rebellious official, for those two will send sudden destruction on them, and who knows what calamities they can bring?

Always be zealous for the fear of the Lord
Proverbs 23:12-35
12: Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.
13: Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish them with the rod, they will not die.
14: My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad indeed.
15: Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord.
16: Listen, my son, and be wise and set your heart on the right path.
17: Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother she is old.
18:An adulterous woman is a deep pit, and a wayward wife(任性的妻子) is a narrow well.
19: Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly!
Then come the hazards(危害) of social climbing; father and son - discipline and advice; a portrait of a drunkard.

Humility and the fear of the Lord being wealth and honor and life
Proverbs 22:1-16
A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is the Maker of them all.
Humility and the fear of the Lord being wealth and honor and life.
A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.
He who loves a pure heart and whose speech will have the king for his friend.
The eyes of the Lord keep watch over knowledge, but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.
He who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and he who gives gifts to the rich - both come to poverty.
Why?
Good name and be esteemed could stay more longer, but riches will pass away soon.
To be rich or poor handled by the Lord. Do not complain or angry to it. Each one has his own destination.
Humility and the fear of the Lord are the key way to be blessed; being wealth and honor and life.
Do not envy the richer or doing the wicked for the Lord is watching each one and he judge the world.
How?
Be humility and fear the Lord, obey his words and keep a pure heart, be generous is my way of blessing.
