Nehemiah 5:14-19
But out of reverence for God(出於對上帝的敬畏) I did not act like that. Instead, I devoted myself to the work on this wall, All my men were assembled there for the work; we did not acquire any land.
Furthermore, a hundred and fifty Jews and officials ate at my table, as well as those who came to us from the surrounding nations.
I never demanded the food allotted to the governor, because the demands were heavy on these people.
Remember me with favor, my God, for all I have done for these people.
Take us 12 years on, as Nehemiah records, to his credit, his own style as governor. He acts as he does out of respect for God and his laws.
Why?
Nehemiah acts for he reverence for God and his laws. He never demanded any food or land from governor, because all governor are supported by the people, it will be loading to people.
Nehemiah acts were not for government, not for himself but for the Lord and his people and the laws.
How?
Respect these men and doing like Nehemiah, do anything for reverence for God!
