Nehemiah 6:10-19
One day I went to the house of Semaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetable, who was shut in at his him, He said, "Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us close the temple doors, because men are coming to kill you - by night they are coming to kill you." But I said, "should a man like me run away? Or should someone like me go into the temple to save his life? I will no go!" I realized the God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
The wall was completed on the 25 of Elul, in 52 days. When all out enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.
For many in Judah were under oath to Tobaih, since he was son-on law to Shekaniah son of Arah, and his son Jehohanan had married the dauster of Meshullam son of Berekiah. So Tobiah sent letters to intimidate(威嚇) me.
Nehemiah's replies are superb. He will allow nothing to deflect him from his God-given task. And in under two months (by August/September, the work having been done in the summer heat) the walls are finished - such a fantastic achievement that even Israel's enemies are forced to acknowledge God's hand in it.
Why?
Revealed one 'threat from within', These verse reveal a disloyalty on the part of leading Jews which jeopardized(危害) the whole effort.
Sometimes the jeopardized from within are more severe than from outside enemies.
Even come into temple of the Lord is not really task to protect our life. Protect us the Lord and the Holy Spirit, but it is the temple or the building church.
Prophesies may disguise by false spirit, so be careful.
This work had been done with the help of our God. Everyone who follow the word of God will be blessed and done with the help of our God.
Within 52 days Nehemiah leading those people the work of building wall was completed.
How?
Insist the mission of the Lord and do it with all my heart and strength, care to the false talk and intimidate with faith.
