Hosea 9:10-17
The Lord said, When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert; when I say your fathers, it was seeing the early fruit on the fig tree. But then they came to Baal Peor, they consecrated themselves to that shameful idol and became as vile as the thing they loved.
Give them, O Lord- what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry.
Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious.
My God will reject them because they have not obeyed him; they will be wanderers among the nations.
Why?
Sin has become habitual, ingrained, to the point where God finally withdraws his love.
Having wandered from God they will become wanderers among the nations.
David Hubbard make the sad point that 'from the time of Hosea's threat until the present the vast majority of Israel's sons and daughters have listed Diaspora海外移民 (Dispersion分散) as their address'.
Original Israel is precious people in God's leading, but for their sinful deeds, they were driven out from their country and their land, then become wanderers among the nations.
How?
Everyone has take his own responsibility of his deeds in the world, closer the the Lord and consecrate ourselves to honor the Lord. Story of Israel is a mirror to all his believers.
