Return to the Lord your God, now

Hosea 14:1-9
Return to the Lord your God. Your sins have been your downfall! Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to him: "Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously that we may offer the fruit of our lips".  Worship with praise no sacrifices as cattle or sheep. Repent and U-turn.
In you the fatherless find compassion.
The Lord said," I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them. I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots.
O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols?  I m like a green pine tree; your fruitfulness comes from me."
The Lord is never do with idols. No any relation with idols.
Who is wise? He will realize these things. Who is discerning? He will understand them. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
Why?
Today is the day of salvation, because you do not know tomorrow.
After the fierce tones of chapter 13, this last chapter is full of love and pleading The way is open. There is no need to pass through the fire of judgement. The only requirement is loyalty to God: this is the way to find love and forgiveness, and to embark on a new, transformed life. This is the truly wise course.
Hosea sets it out so clearly.Yet his contemporaries ignored it all. The Assyrians swept down and destroyed their splendid capital, Samaria. They took the remaining Israelites into exile and repeopled their land with foreigners.
Only there is right in the Lord, He always is right, his words, his sovereignty.
How?
Be wise and be discerning what I am doing now? He is the Lord, full of compassion. Dear Lord, forgive my foolish, unknown sins and unwisely mind, refresh my mind and my heart, receive me graciously. Let me more understand your words and walk on your way.
