Hosea 10:1-15
Israel was a spreading vine; he brought forth for himself. As his fruit increased, he built more altars.
Ephraim will be disgraced, Israel will be ashamed of its wooden idols. Samaria and its king will float away like a twig on the surface of the waters.
Since the days of Gibeah, you have sinned, and there you have remained. Did not war overtake the evildoers in Gibeah? When I please, I will punish them;
Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers righteousness on you.
But you have planted wickedness, you have reaped evil, you have eaten the fruit of deception. Because you have depended on your own strength and on your many warriors.
Thus will it happen to you, O Bethel, because your wickedness is great. When that day dawns, the king of Israel will be completely destroyed.
Why?
Outwardly, affluent富裕的 Israel made a great show of religion, but inwardly the people moved further and further away from God. The calf-image at Bethel had become the nation's only 'king', a king marked for destruction. Now they are reaping what they have long sown.
Yet they could still sow an altogether different crop.
[ Gibeah's Crime ] As they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, worthless fellows, surrounded the house, beating on the door. And they said to the old man, the master of the house, “Bring out the man who came into your house, that we may know him.”Judges 19:22
There are two choices, sow for ourselves righteousness and reap the fruit of unfailing love, another is plant wickedness and reap evil, eat the fruit of deception.
How?
I should sow the righteousness ad reap the fruit of unfailing love,which is through the salvation of Jesus Christ. It is the time to seek the Lord.
