Romans 9:14-33
Therefore it does not depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.
Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.
Who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?'"
What if God, choosing to show his wrath an make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath- prepared for destruction?
What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory - even us, whom he also called not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles.
I will call them 'my people' who are not my people; and I will call her 'my loved one' who is not my loved one."
Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.
Stumbling stone: pursued law of righteousness by works, but not by faith.
We can hardly call him to task for it. The maker has an indisputable(unable to be challenged or denied) right to do as he pleases with what he makes.
It is only by virtue of his patience and mercy that even a remnant of stubborn, rebellious Israel survived his judgment.
People of other nations, knowing their failure, welcomed God's gift and achieved ' a righteousness base on faith', The Jews, pursuing righteousness on the basis of deeds, refused God's better way.
Why?
Jesus Christ is the savior to the chosen one who has faith in Him, but he is stumbling stone to those who reject it and pursue by works.
We all are the object of God's mercy, so we may be called. Everyone who turn to the Lord will be save through Jesus Christ.
How?
Obey to the Lord, we are his object of God. We am I?
