Abraham Justified by Faith

 Romans 4:1-8

 What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousnessGen. 15:6,22

Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.

"Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.” Psalm 32:1,2

Psalm 32 mentioned we have to confess our sins before the Lord, then God will forgive us. The back of the faith is to confess our sins.

Trust in the Lord will is justified by faith. Credited to him as righteousness is written in Genesis 15 so the father of faith is Abraham.

Paul picks up on his statement in 3L21-22 that this same faith-principle is inherent in the Old Testament scriptures. If he can prove his point in the case of Abraham- father of the Jewish nation, and the prime example of an upright person - surely the Jewish objectors will be convinced. And he can. God accepted Abraham not because of his good life, but because of his faith.

Why?

The faith-principle is inherent in the Old Testament, it is the plan of the Lord to all men.

God is love with righteousness, God's way is beyond men can image and efforts.

信更堅固律法

1.亞伯拉罕如何稱義?因行為嗎?是因為信。如果因為行為稱義,他就可以誇口了。人到達一個成就,就會自誇,自傲,好像神欠我們,人更驕傲了。人若可以不靠神,不用聽神的,聽我的就好了,這就回到亞當的罪了。不要以為人夠好了才成為基督徒,不是我夠好了神才要用我。在我們有把握的事情更要留意要依靠神,不可驕傲。

人必須承認自己是罪人。有人說舊約是律法時代,人要遵行律法,新約是恩典時代。這是錯的。源自舊約就是人因信稱義。

這裏三個有福,都是不靠自己,而讓神塑造我,改變成為神所喜悅的樣式,這樣的人時人行的。1)蒙神算為義的人,2)得赦免其過、遮蓋其罪的,3)主不算為有罪的,這三個都是神做的,不是我們做的。
