Circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised

 Romans 4:9-12

Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness. Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before! And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcisedSo then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them. And he is then also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

Because against all the odds, Abraham stuck to his conviction that God would do what he promised. The covenant - agreement, of which circumcision was the outward sign, came later. So people are not those of Abraham's race who lay claim to te covenant promises as their birthright but those of any race who share Abraham's faith.

Why?

Both circumcised and uncircumcised people are encouragement from Abraham's faith. No for the circumcised but for the faith.

Abraham has faith first then he was circumcised as a seal of righteousness.

Abraham is the father of all who believes but has not been circumcised.

Abraham is the father of faith.

How?

Paul makes the word of the Lord more clear to all who have faith in Jesus Christ. Praise to the Lord!
