New covenant protecting his people

Hosea 2:14-23
Betroth: 聘; to arrange for the marriage of. 
Respond: to make a return by some action as if in answer
In that day, You will call me 'my husband'; you will not longer call me 'my master'.
I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and your will acknowledge the Lord.
In that day I will respond to the skies, and they will responding to the earth; and the earth will respond to the grain, the new wine and oil, and they will respond to Jezreel (Means God's plant, God's sow).
I will say 'You are my people'; and they will say, 'You are my God'.
Why?
In the infinitely tender language of love, God speaks of a better future, a new covenant protecting his people from all danger (both fro wild beats ad from military aggression), a people betrothed and faithful to him.
In that day is the end of world, when Jesus comes back again.
The relationship between us and the Lord are from master to husband. The Lord make a new covenant to his people, as Jesus came give us a new life through Him, and with love.
Am I acknowledge the Lord? 
How?
The wrath of the Lord are temporary, but His love endure forever. 
For the relationship is so closer with the Lord through Jesus, I should not fear and go forward in his righteousness and faithfulness.

Unfaithful wife - faithless nation

Hosea 2:2-13
The Lord described Israel forgot Him as a adulterous wife. 
Israel forgot all her have was the Lord gave her, includes food, water, wool linen, oil and drink. Israel chased after her lovers nut not catch them she will look for them but not find them.
The Lord will punish her for the days she burned incense to the Baals; she decked herself with rings and jewelry, and went after her lovers.
Why?
Hosea's voice, pleading with his unfaithful wife, becomes one with the voice of God addressing Israel. The people are worshiping Baal, the Canaanite fertility god, thinking he is the one who gives good crops and plentiful harvests; when all the time it is God. They will be punished.
Unfaithful wife - faithless nation.
The relationship between God and Israel is vividly portrayed in the prophet's own marriage - unfaithfulness breakdown and healing.
God had punish to Israel, because she is His child so God has punishment on her, hope she may repent and return.
How?
What I am chasing for? Is the lover of this world or chasing the pleasure of the Lord? Don't forget the mercy of the Lord.

Obey the words of the Lord for He is loving us

Hosea 1:6-2:1
Gomer conceive again and gave birth to a daughter,. Then the Lord said to Hosea, "call her Lo-Ruhamah- for I will no longer show love to the house of Israel".
Gomer hd another son, then the Lord said, "Call him Lo-Ammi, for you are ot my people, and I am not your God".
In the place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' they will be called 'son of the living God'. The people of Judah ad the people of Israel will be reunited, and they will appoint one leader and will come up out of the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel. Say of your brother, 'Ruhamah ', and of your sisters,' Ammi '
Ruhamah - means loved.
Ammi - means my people.
Why?
Three children are born, and each is given a name which peaks God's message to Israel:'bloodshed and punishment','Unloved' and 'Not my people'
To be a parent called his children bad name, how unwilling he was, but Hosea accepted and obey the commands of the Lord, as he married with adulterous wife.
Through the prophet, God is giving his people a last opportunity to repent before judgement breaks on the land. Yet even though they refuse, his loving purpose is not thwarted挫敗.
Jezreel : The site of many bloody battles; here the reference is to the slaughter recounted in 2 Kings 10.
The wrath of the Lord is temporary, but his love is endure forever. His loving is not failed.
How?
Complete obey the words of the Lord is the best sacrifice to the Lord. Obey His words for God loves us and it is great blessing to us, and better than any other can gives.

Hosea: Surrender to the Lord

Hosea 1:1-5
The word of the Lord that came to Hosea son of Beeri during the reign of Jeroboam son of Jehoash king of Israel.
The Lord speak through Hosea, Go, take to yourself an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness, because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the Lord. So Hosea married Gomer, and she conceived and bore him a on.
The Lord said to Hosea, Call him Jezreel, because the Lord will punish the house of Israel for the massacre of Israel.
This is the first and longest of the 'Minor' prophets, called "The Book of the Twelve' in the Hebrew Bible. Chronologically, Amos is a few years earlier.
Why?
Hosea was one of Isiah's contemporaries, a prophet of God in the 8th century BC. He was a northerner and his message was for Israel, although he occasionally refers to Judah. He prophesied at the end of the reign of the nation's last powerful king, Jeroboam II. He prophesied for the next 40 years, until just before Samaria fell to Assyria in 722BC.
Hosea's great themes are love- God's covenant-relationship with his people - judgement and hope.
What Israel's unfaithfulness meant to God- how he continued to love his covenant people and long for their return to him- the prophet learnt through bitter personal experience, as the wife he loved betrayed and deserted him. His message comes straight from the heart. That is what makes his book so moving, so universal and so special.
Marry a woman of harlotry. Harlotry in Hosea has double meaning, describing both illicit sexual relations and religious acts of unfaithfulness.
To be a prophet of the Lord, only obey the command of Lord, and have to forsake  personal way and idea.
How?
How will I go is follow the word of the Lord, it is not my planning but the mind of the Lord. I surrender to the Lord.

Pray is the unseen weapon to keep us courage and stand up firm

Ephesians 6:10-24
Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Put on the full armor of God; stand firm
1) belt of truth buckled around your waist
2) breastplate of righteousness in place
3) feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace
4) take up the shield of faith
5) Take the helmet of salvation
6) sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.
7) Pray in the Spirit in all occasions with all kinds of prayers ad requests.
Paul asked they pray for him, that whenever he open his mouth, words may be given him so that he will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.
Why?
Paul does not pretend it will be easy to maintain these standards. There is a need for 'body-building'. The fight is on. We are against powerful forces in a spiritual struggle. We need spiritual weapons and these God provides.
Like Roman soldier, we have a belt and breastplate, shoes and shield, helmet and sword.
God fits us out with all the armor we need for defense and protection. With these we can make our stand against all-comers.
Most important of all, is the unseen weapon of prayer. The prayer of his readers can help Paul keep up his courage and speak up for God in that faraway prison.
Seven important spiritual weapons for the spiritual war in heaven realms.
How?
Build my body with God's words and gifts. I need more prayer for the unseen spiritual environment. Let me fearlessly preach gospel of peace and make known the mystery of the gospel.

Bring children up in the training and instruction of the Lord

Ephesians 6:1-9
Obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"- which is the first commandment with a promise.
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Chris, doing the will of God from your heart.
Masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
Why?
In the family, children owe their parents respect and obedience.
Parents must exercise discipline - not behave like petty tyrants;
Christian slaves serve their masters as willingly and well as they serve Christ.
Christian masters will bludgeon棍棒 or bully欺負, knowing that they must answer to a Master themselves.
First commandment with a promise:  live long in the land the Lord your God is given you (Exodus 20:12).
Each one has different identity in the world, we are children, parent and a staff or chief of other. All of the position is given form the Lord, discipline us, let us grow up in Spirit. Do the good witness in the world.
How?
Bring my daughters up in the training and instruction of the Lord. With more patient and love, instruct them with God and be a good model before them.

Christian husband cares for his wife with "unselfish"

Ephesians 5:21-33
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wife, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church
Husband loves wife as Christ loved the church without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. - Honest and sincerely.
A man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery - but Paul was talking about Christ and the church.
Each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
There is no verb in verse 22 in Greek: first the wife and then the husband is used to illustrate Paul's instruction in verse 21. So the Christian wife gives her husband complete respect and loyalty; the Christian husband cares for his wife with unselfish, undemanding love. Each depends on the other, and both model themselves on Christ.
Why?
'Submit yourselves to one another.' Paul says, speaking to all his readers, men and women alike.
Submit is complete obey and respect to the head. To be a husband must love his wife without selfish and caring his wife.
How?
Love my wife first caring her mind and her joy, then keep honest to my wife. For I  am follow Christ loved church with stain or wrinkle or other blemish.
I have to confess that I was too selfish in past a few years to treat my wife. Please forgive me, Dear Lord.

Understand what the Lord's will is

Ephesians 5:1-20
Be imitators of God; (not any others.) as dearly loved children.
Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us.
Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. do not be partners with them.
Live as children of light ,for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, rightness and truth and find out what pleases the Lord.
Everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible.
Be very careful, then, how you live- not as unwise but as wise.
Do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.
Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Why?
To be children of light: 1) Do all goodness, 2)rightness and 3)truth and 4)find out what pleases the Lord 5)makes everything visible 6)Be very careful, then, how you live 7)Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything 8)Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Be a imitator of God, for no one in this world is righteousness.
Wise man understand what the Lord's will is. Who find out what pleases the Lord. This is an active servant, not passive servant.
Acknowledge what is empty words and coarse joking, don't spend time in these talk.
No matter under what situation, especially in difficulty or suffering, still believe in the Lord and give thanks to God, all has His goodness arrangement and mercy on us.
How?
Love the Lord are not passive love God, but active find out what please the Lord. Understand what the Lord's will is.

Live in the light. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,

Ephesians 4:17-32
Insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with lust for more.

Your did not come to know Christ that way. Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. Put off  your old self which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Put off false hood and speak truthfully to his neighbor. "In your anger do not sin." Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Why?
Live in the light!
Salvation is God's free gift, but it carries with it the obligation to live and behave from that point on as God wants.
This means deliberately discarding the old, selfish way of life, shedding former habits and letting the new life change our thinking and remold our pattern of behavior.
Paul does not stop at generalities: he is quite specific in his 'does' and 'don'ts' . The new life calls for truth and honesty; no harboured grudges結怨, no spite 惡意and bitterness - instead kindness and a new readiness to forgive.
In a word, we are to copy God's own character, lives of sacrificial love which will bear the searching light of God. Once we belonged to the dark: now we are children of light.
Why?
Live in the light, to be children of light in God. I have to active to do the right thing that response the calling from the Lord.

Live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Ephesians 4:1-16
Live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
There is one body and one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every word of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, Christ.
Why?
Unity- in practice
Christian unity is a fact Christians are bound together by a common faith, a common life, common loyalty,common purpose. They serve one Master. He is the head, they are the limbs of a single body.
But they are not all identical in temperament, personality or gifts. The bond must constantly be cemented鞏固 by a loving, forbearing attitude to one another, and by using the different gifts for the common good. We have to grow up together until we are all Christ wants us to be.
How?
We are one in Christ, to serve the Lord, may I live a life worthy of the calling I have received. Be completely humble and gentle and speak the truth in love, grow up into Him.
The love is the essential element to cement all body in Christ. The motivation is love.

Approach God with freedom and confidence

Ephesians 3:12-21
Paul has prayed that the church might have understanding.
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
Paul pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
God is able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
Why?
Through faith in Christ we can be confident of access to God. Since this benefits flow from the spread of the gospel.
Paul's readers must not let his present suffering discourage them.
Paul prays more urgently than ever that thy may have love; that they may be strong; that Christ make his home in their hearts; that God may fill them completely.
We may have power through Christ together with all the saints, not only me, but I am working with other saints in love.
The love is from God, so that we know the great power with us to be strong and nor fear.
We are not along, God is able to do more than all we asked or imagine in his will. Sometimes our prayer might not be fulfill for the Lord has more better plan in us.
PS.
We are planing drams in this world , some play comedy role some play tragedy role, the end of drama is not important, but how this role I playing be good and touch the heart of audience is more important.
How?
May the love of Jesus Christ full fill in my heart and strengthen me. Let my love be rooted and established through Spirit of God in my inner being.

Administration of mystery of God's grace

Ephesians 3:1-11
Administration of God's grace that was given to me for gentile.
Administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God.
This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and shares together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
God's intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms.
Why?
Before Christ came, God's promises were largely confined to the Jews. The gospel of Christ was itself largely a 'mystery', 'kept secret' until now - and at the heart of this secret was God's intention to make the gentiles, too, heirs to all his promises.
When Paul was commissioned to bring them the message of salvation, a new phase in God's plan was begun.
As people of all nations are brought together in Christ they demonstrate God's power and wisdom, not only to the watching world, but to the cosmic powers beyond and behind it.
Paul knew the mystery of gospel, so he devoted his life to preach message to Gentiles.
The church is the manifold wisdom of God, be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms. Church is the symbol of ambassador of  heavenly realm in this world.
All Christians are together of one body of Christ and share together in the promise in Christ. All in one in Holy Spirit as one body, one family.
How?
Love each other among brothers, let people know we are belong to the Lord.
Preach the mystery of gospel, even many won't accept it, until end of that Day.
Blessing are those who believed in Jesus Christ.

Become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit

Ephesians 2:11-22
Now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility敵對, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations.
We are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizen with God's people and member of God's household, built on the foundation of 1)the apostles and 2)prophets, with 3)Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. -- the church
In him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Why?
In the ancient world Jews were separated from Gentiles by racial, religious, cultural and social barriers. The Jews were God's chosen people, near to him; the Gentiles were sinful heathens, far off, If Christ could bring these two together, there is no human gulf too great for him to bridge His death on the cross is the one means of peace with God for all people, without distinction, those who are near and those who are near and those who are far off.
When we became a Christian, we are fellow citizen with God's people, the citizen of the God's kingdom forever. Don't have to pay money stay in some place for a few years like in America.
Our faith are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, they preached God's words and on the foundation of Jesus Christ as chief cornerstone- the beginning. The Spirit of God is dwelling in us teach me and guides me.
How?
Keep my body Holy and my mind withe the Lord, let the Holy Spirit may dwelling in me. Read His words everyday to remind me, pray for myself be pleased before the Lord.

Live for the Lord

Ephesians 2:1-10
All of us were dead in our transgressions and sins. in which we used to live when we followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions.
For it is by grace we have been saved, through faith- and this not from ourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Why?
Because of our disobedience and sin, we were 'spiritually dead', cut off from God. But in and through Christ God has brought us to life again.
He has made us part of his new creation. We are saved to live as God wants, here in this world - and to reign with Christ in the spiritual realm.
Ruler of the spiritual powers: Satan, whose rebellious spirit is actively at work in the world of human beings.
We could be saved is through Christ and faith, both are the gift of God, not by our works, so no one can boast for it. We are God's workmanship, His new creatures to live in Christ.
How?
All of us, include me is a sinner, it is the grace of God saved me. No boast of anything but live with thanks and humble myself to live for the Lord.

The eyes of your heart may be enlightened

Ephesians 1:15-23
Faith in the Lord Jesus and love for all the saints. Paul appreciated these behavior of Christians.
Paul prayed to them the Lord may give the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
Paul prayed also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that 1)you may know the hope to which he has called you, 2)the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and 3)his incomparable great power for us who believe.
Jesus Christ was appointed to be head over everything for the Church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Why?
From the beginning God determined to share his spiritual riches and glory with us - 'in Chris' (Key phrase of Ephesians).
As we believe in him, his death sets us free; we cane be forgiven. We can also  share his new, risen life. We are made one with him, part of him. And in him we too are caught up in God's great world plan as we live to his glory.
A surer grasp of their glorious destiny, and increased awareness of the power at their disposal. The power God exercised in raising Christ from the dead and setting him in supreme control of the universe is at work in us, too!
The picture carries the concept of the same life flowing through both; of the church carrying our Christ's work in the world.
Believed in Jesus Christ and love saints is the central goal of Christians.
God's plan is so great and he cares us, let our eyes see the hope, the riches of his glorious and his great power for us.
How?
Dear Lord, please open my eyes of heart may be enlightened and see your great hope , power and glory.

Ephesians: He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

Ephesians 1:1-14
Paul wrote as a prisoner (probably under house arrest in Rome in the early 60) link this letter with Philippians, Colossians and Philemon.
It seems likely that Ephesians began as  a 'circular', written to a group of churches in what is now western Turkey- of which Ephesus itself was the most important.
Because of its clear that the gentile Christians predominated, and that they tended to look down on their Jewish fellow Christians. Hence he stress in this letter on God's glorious plan to bring people of every nation and background together in Christ.
In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
In accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
You were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession - to the praise of his glory.
Why?
All of this are God's love and grace lavished on us.
Everyone who believed in Him be marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. Guarantee that we are with Him forever.
We has this grace not for our righteousness but for his love and for his forgiveness.
lavished, abundant give us his love, not only accepted but let us understanding and with wisdom.
How?
I have nothing can boast, praise to be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the name of the Lord be exalted.
I have to learn more and more to understand the truth, let others get benefit of Christ through me.

The End Times

Daniel 12:1-13
At the time, there will be a time of distress such as has not happened fro the beginning of nations until then. But at that time everyone whose name is found written in the book will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.
Close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will o here and there to increase knowledge.
The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, saying "It will be for a time, times and half a time, all these things will e completed.
Daniel did not understand it and asked He, He said "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed util the time of the end. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked.  None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand. From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. You will rise to receive your allotted inheritance"
Why?
Daniel is the first Old Testament book to speak explicitly of the resurrection of individual people.
When that day come, and all the terrible troubles are past, those who have shown themselves wise by their faithful obedience to God will rise to shine like stars for ever. All evil will be done away. But even Daniel approach to these matters may still be the wisest course!
Wise men are those who know the Lord and ready themselves waiting for His coming.
The end of times is a mystery of the Lord, we don't know it, even Daniel could not understand it. We go our way, obey the commands of the Lord.
Time and Times and half a time are same times described in Revelation.
Blessed is the one who waits for the Lord.
How?
The time is controlled by the Lord, we do our way, do our best in our life to honor the name of the Lord. At the end times, will get the honor and everlasting life. For me, I have to wait for the sign of God a while, for my next destination.

Confirm our faith in God while facing these mess generation

Daniel 11:20-45
North king's successor will send out a tax collector to maintain the royal splendor. In a few years, however, he will be destroyed yet not in anger or in battle. but a contemptible person who has not been given the honor of royalty.
His heart will be set against the holy covenant. He will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.
Those who are wise will instruct many, though for a time they will fall by the sword or be burned or captured or plundered. When they fall, they will receive a  little help. Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.
The king who exalts himself above all, he will do as he pleases, He will say unheard of things against the God of gods.
Yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.
Why?
The 'exactor of tribute' was his son Seleucus IV, who was shortly succeeded by his brother Antiochus IV,  the persecutor of the Jews.
Antiochus briefly gained control of Egypt in 173. On his return he attacked Jerusalem and slaughtered 80,000 Jews.(v25-28)
He turned on Jerusalem again and desecrated the Temple(v31)
He was aided and abetted(挑唆) by some Jews, but others refused to compromise their faith, though they died for it(v32-33).
Judas Maccabaeus instigated(煽動) a successful revolt,(起義) so helping the faithful.(v34)
The end of Antiochus' life my refer to the end of Syrian domination, at the hands of Rome, the new king from the north. Or they may anticipate events at the end of time.
There were people who know the God will firmly resist the evil one.
How?
All the evil doers will be ended at the appointed time. To be a Christian was refined his life wait for the coming day of the End.
All of the disasters and the boast kings are only for a time. The one who firmly in the faith of Jesus may gets the glory of Heaven.
How?
Calm down my heart in these mess generation, and firmly resist all of this evil things, believe in the Lord.

God has full knowledge and control of all history

Daniel 11:1-19
This chapter presents detailed account of the struggle that took place in the Persian and Greek periods. those who believe that the book was written after these events naturally do not consider this chapter to be real prophecy.
The intention would still be to declare that God has full knowledge and control of all history.
There are to be three more Persian kings (2; Cambyes, Gaumata and Darius I). followed by a fourth (Xerxes). Xerxes invaded Greece but was defeated at Salamis in 480BC. The power them passed to Greece.
Verse 5 refers to Egypt and to Ptolemy's one time general, Selcucus, who became 'king of the north' - the powerful kingdom of Syria and the east. Fifty years later the daughter of Ptolemy II married Antiochus II of Syria. But she was divorced and murdered, and her brother avenged her by attacking Syria.
The Struggle between the two powers at the end of the 3rd century BC.The Jews then joined forces with Antiochus III of Syria to defeat Egypt. They gained their freedom from Egypt and Antiochus made a marriage alliance with Ptolemy V. Antiochus invaded Asia Minor and Greece but was defeated by the Romans at Magnesia in 190BC.
Why?
Angel explained more detail about the future events, God control of all history, nothing can hide before Him.
How?
No matter what happen in this world or around me, both are under the authority of the Lord. Do not afraid, be strong, believe in Jesus Christ. Our savior.

Peace! Be strong now; be strong.

Daniel 10:15-21
While Daniel was helpless and speechless, the angel touched his lips, the angel touched Daniel , and gave him strength. Angel said to Daniel "Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed. Peace! Be strong now; be strong."
When angel spoke to Daniel, he was strengthened, so Daniel said,"Speak, my Lord, since you have given me strength."
No one supports angel against prince of Persia and the prince of Greece, except Michael, your prince."
Why?
Michael is the special guardian angle of the Jewish people. The 'princes' in this chapter are patron angels of the various nations.
Touch has the power transfer to other, so we will prayed to someone transfer the Spirit of Holy and pure to the blessed one.
Spoke is another encouragement to people, the words of God with the power may remind and encourage people.
Daniel was overcome and anguish ,because of the vision. He cannot understand it and he concerned about his country and the servants of God.
How?
Be strong, do not be afraid about the future, for the Lord, Jesus has conquered the enemy, he conquered the dead.

Set mind to gain understanding and humble before God

Daniel 10:1-15
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a revelation was given to Daniel. Its message was true and it concerned a great war. The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.
Daniel saw the Glory God, others around him did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves.
When Daniel saw it and listen to the angel talk to him, he was no strength left, face turned deathly pale and helpless.
There was a war between the Michael, one of the chief princes, and the king of Persia.
Daniel set his mind to gain understanding and to humble himself before God, so the Lord and his angels came to him. Chief of princes explain it to Daniel.
God told Daniel the first word ' Do not be afraid, Daniel' and called his name.
Why?
After a long fast, Daniel receives an awe-inspiring vision of a glorious figure: very like John's vision of Christ in Revelation He is given insight into the continual battle raging in the spiritual realm between those protecting God's people and those bent on their destruction.
Michael is the special guardian angel of the Jewish.
The 'princes' in this chapter are patron angels of the various nations.
How?
Set his mind to gain understanding and to humble himself before God, the Lord reveal the vision to Daniel, so if I have these mind and heart to the Lord.

What I am concerning about? the affair of Lord or mine own?

Daniel 9:20-27
While Daniel was speaking and praying confessing his sin and the sin of his people to the Lord for his holy hill- Messenger angel Gabriel told Daniel about the message and understand the vision: "Seventy sevens"
'Seventy sevens are decreed for people of Israel and the holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.
From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One comes there will be sixty-nine 'sevens'. (Christ Jesus)
After the 69 sevens, the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing.
The people of ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven'. In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of [the temple; the abominations] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.
Why?
God has ordained a period of 70x7 in which the salvation of his people will be completed. For the Jews, the number seven itself symbolized completeness, perfection. It may therefore be best to take the numbers symbolically, though the period of time between the decree to rebuild and restore Jerusalem and the beginning of Jesus' ministry comes very close to the 7+62 weeks = 483 days, standing for the same number of years. This is the total reached if we take the figures literally. (though there is more than one possible starting-point, and even the end-date is not absolutely fixed).
The ruler of people seems to point to the death and rejection of Christ and the destruction of the Temple which followed in AD 70 - with a wider reference at the end. But the subject of verse 27 is not at all clear. 'He' is taken by some to be the Messiah, by others to be the destroying prince of the previous verse.
In the 69 sevens there were 1)Messiah was cut off, have nothing 2) rebuilt holy city and sanctuary would be destroyed in AD 70, Rome destroyed Jerusalem.
How?
The time of under the hands of God, we do not know what the schedule of the Lord, but I should do my role in the world to honor the name of the Lord.
What I am concerning about, is my life? my living? my eating or financial problem, all of these the Lord will support me. This is my faith to the Lord!

Pray to the Lord because of his great mercy!

Daniel 9:1-19
Daniel sincerely turned to the Lord God and pleased with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes. When he read  the scriptures, according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah, that desolation of Jerusalem would last 70 years.
Daniel prayed to the Lord and confessed that the men of Judah and people of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries have sinned against the Lord, covered with shame because has transgressed God's law and turned away, refusing to obey the words of the Lord.
Daniel pleased the Lord see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not requests of you because of we are right, but because of your great mercy. Because your city and your people bear your Name!
The Lord is righteous, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with all who love him and obey his command.
The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.
Why?
Daniel pleads with God for the return of his people to their homeland. He is completely one with his people, sharing the blame for sin, and his request rests solely on God's mercy.
Daniel prayed for his people and his country, for he is one of them. Judah and Israelite people cover with shame, he is one of them. He thought he has the responsibility to pray for his people.
All of us are sinner, no one is righteous, we pray to the Lord because our God is merciful and forgiving.
How?
I should please to the Lord for my country and my people either for they are sinned against the Lord, even they do not know the Lord.

Vision concerns the distant future

Daniel 8:15-27
This vision will happen later in the time of wrath. God's messenger-angel Gabriel explained to Daniel.
A stern-faced king, a master of intrigue, will arise. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.
The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given you is true, but seal up the vision, for it concerns the distant future.
Daniel was exhausted and lay ill for several days. He was appalled by the vision; it was beyond understanding.
Why?
This is the first time God' messenger-angel is name in the Bible. It was Gabriel who appeared to Zechariah, father of John, and again to Mary before the birth of Jesus.
V17 This  usually refers to the winding up of history, and God's final judgment. But verse 26 relates the vision to the distant future, and 19 to the period when the suffering will be over.
The Bible writers often seem to step clear of time, and view contemporary and future events as one aspect of the total, final events of  'the end'.
Final day is the time of God's wrath.
Daniel saw the vision will happen in near future and distant future.
To be a servant understanding this vision became a burden and harsh worrier. The Lord let Daniel wrote these to let us know that before the final day, Christian will suffering some persecutions. And the world will have more evil doers and full of intrigue.
How?
Pray to the Lord, give us the faith and strength to tell others know the Lord is sovereign Lord, only Jesus Christ is our savior.

The words of the Bible are come true

Daniel 8:1-14
Daniel saw vision of ram and goat in the third of King Belshazzar's reign.
Daniel heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him, "How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled - the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes the daily desolation, and the surrender of the sanctuary and of the host that will be trampled underfoot?" He said to Daniel, "It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated."
Two-horned ram which symbolizes Medo-Persia will be superseded by the swift-footed goat- Alexander's Greek Empire. The four horns are the kingdoms into which his empire was divided. The little horn, in this chapter, refers to Antiochus IV, who rules Syria 175-164BC. Which resulted in the Jewish Maccabern revolt. 1 Maccabee 1-6 recounts this period of Jewish history.
2300 days: Antiochu first meddled in Jewish affairs in 171; he died in 164BC.
Why?
Daniel saw similar vision about the future of the two kingdoms, and one more king will rebel Jewish and sanctuary for seven years.
These prophecy are come true after Daniel, which reminds us that all the words of Bible or the words of God will come true.
How?
Have faith in the Lord and Jesus Christ. He is the sovereign Lord. God permitted some rebellion in this world until the vision are fulfilled, so we Christian may learn from it and grow up in our spiritual life.

Everything are good to us - Christians

Daniel 7:15-28
Daniel was troubled in spirit, and the visions that passed through his mind disturbed him.
Daniel want to know the meaning if all this, so he approached one of those standing there.
The ten horns are the kings who will come from this kingdom,the 4th kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saint will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time.
But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.
Daniel was deeply troubled by these, his face turned pale but kept the matter to himself.
Why?
Opposing God's people in different guises throughout history is the 'little horn', until God finally removes its power. It is from this chapter that Revelation 13 draw its imagery.
The saint will have trouble for 2.5 year or 3.5 years, a year, two years an half a year.
Now the time is setting from the date of Jesus birth.
This little horn is anti-Christ.
Daniel was terrified and his face turned pale, for he was amazing these vision, beyond his mind can image. And he may worry the war against saints.
Thanks God, many things happen, but the God controls all of these. The Lord allowed a limited time for the evil one, let Christian has more faith and let us getting better and stronger.
The Lord let Daniel know these vision and wrote it down, let us understand what will happen and how are face it in mind and faith.
How?
Be aware all of these world will be passes away, the Most high, sovereign Lord, His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom. All of the testimony are good to us, Jesus followers. In perspective of the Lord is good, but for the perspective of
us may be bad thing.

Why I am caring about the troubles in this world?

Daniel 7:1-14
Daniel dreamed four beasts in the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon.
1st one is looked like a lion with two wings of an eagle. The heart of human was given.
2nd one is looked like a bear, and had three ribs in its mouth. It was told, 'Get up and eat your fill of flesh.'
3rd one is looked like a leopard, it back has four wings like those of a bird This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.
4th beast is terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth, it had ten horns. A little horn came up among them; three of the first horns were rooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth that spoke boastfully.
The image of the Lord:
Thrones were set in place and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousand upon thousands attended him; then thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated and the books were opened.
The boastful words the horn was speaking beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. Other beasts had been stripped of their authority but were allowed to live for a period of time.
A son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory an sovereign power. His dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. This is the kingdom founded by Jesus Christ.
Why?
First image vision is pictorial representation of history. Again there are four successive empires, and then the kingdom of God is established.
The winged lion is Babylon.
The Bear is Greek Empire of Alexander the Great, on his death divided among his four generals. Seleucus founded a dynasty in Syria. Ptolemy founded a dynasty in Egypt. The other two kingdoms were Greece and Asia Minor.
The ten horns equate with the ten toes of the image in gold man.
God's judgement of the world empires.
The Lord let Daniel review the future of Babylon and the following kingdoms.
The Lord strip the authority of those beasts but allowed them to live for a period of time. It is the mercy of God, and they can't do any evil things.
Ancient of Days: one who was ancient of days did sit on the throne.
How?
All of these world will be passed away, only the kingdom of Jesus Christ will never be destroy, his dominion endures forever. He is the living God!
I am a member in God's kingdom, we are enjoying in his glory and peace through Jesus Christ. Why I am caring to be troubled by this world? Look beyond this word. Dear Lord please give me more visions of heaven.

Reverence the God of Daniel, my God also

Daniel 6:19-28
King got up at the first light of dawn, and came to near den, he called to Daniel in a anguished voice, " Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?"
Daniel answered, " My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions, They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king."
The king was overjoyed and gave order to lift Daniel out of the den, And commanded the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lion's den, along with their wives and children. Before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.
The king Darius issue a decree to all the peoples, nation and men of every language throughout the land to reverence the God of Daniel.
Daniel was as safe from harm in the lion-pit as his friends had been in the furnace.
Why?
Daniel was found innocent in the God and have not ever done any wrong before the king. He reverenced the God and obeyed his commends.
Daniel was rescued from lion by the Lord, let the king knows that his God is a living God and will rescue his people. Good witness in that time.
To be a king has something can not do it, but there is nothing God cannot, God is mighty Gog over all in the earth and heaven. He is love and righteousness.
How?
Reverence the Lord, He is the God of Daniel, and He is my God. Under the blessing of the Lord, prosper and peace with me.

Daniel 6:1-18
Daniel were one of three administrators over 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom. Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
The administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charge against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
They said "We will never find any basis of charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God."
The king likes Daniel but the other administrator envy and jealous Daniel for his distinguish conducts.
Why?
All his life Daniel has been a man of God. He is now in his eighties, and his enemies still cannot fault him. They can only attack him through his religion. Daniel could have stopped praying for a month, or more ready to compromise now than he was as a boy. So his enemies have him. The king's hands are ties by his own decree, but God's hand is not.
Daniel was working in government, he did so distinguished himself, he had not any grounds could be found for charge against him. Daniel was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
Daniel respected the king, but he honored the Lord higher than the king.
How?
Learning the faith to God and his trustworthy to his service, he was an example in my life. I hope I could do as Daniel.
